The birds are chirping... the flowers are swayin in the breeze... our first peony of the season opened ever so gracefully. Our other friend, The horned toad says hello.

While this handful is lovely, it doesn’t tell the whole story however. This year our fall planted beauties took a big hit when the Texas snowmageddon in February killed off nearly half of what we’d tucked into the ground. Our goal every year is to have flowers by Mother’s Day but this year looks like it may be a big flop. *Sad trombone.*

The unprecedented freezes of 2020, soil fertility issues, etc just means enough blooms for my table but not many others.

We still hope to see y’all at the downtown Lubbock farmers market. We’re just hoping things warm up and bloom by then. 🤞Oh, and next year... we will try again to hit Mother’s Day. 🙃 #flatcityfarmsflowers #lubbockdowntownfarmersmarket #lubbocktx
